What If They Don't Know You?

Oh neighbor
The snow has finished falling
And our beloved grass has returned
Let's throw off our rubber boots and run through the blades
The wind passes through the chimes on your porch
And I swear the sound cut through my heart
It was pure, so innocent
At that second your eyes met mine and your hair fell over them
At just the right spot
I could have kissed you right then
Or when we shared a blanket on your couch
And even under that movie screen
Or anytime you've been around
But I lead a life that won't allow my lips
To dance with yours
No matter how sweet the moment.
