One day the lion and the zebra left to woods
To get a drink of water by the lake
He knew how quenching the liquid is
But she had never tasted it
And on the other side was the snake
Who said "pssst come here dear zebra, would you like to be my friend?"
The lion knew snakes were not to be trusted
But the zebra fell for the allure of something new
So quietly the lion objected, but his love for her told him to wish her the best
She pranced to the other side and ate fruit and danced with the snake
The fun left the zebra confused enough to tell the lion
"Go. I love you but this life I live leaves me lusting for more,
You've grown numb to me and I'm afraid I love you
But only in words, not in heart"
So as the lion walked away with his mane pointed towards the ground
The snake sneaked up behind the zebra as she quickly closed her eyes
And cuddled her up and bit her soft, beautiful neck
Filled her full of venom
And without the lion for as long as she would live.
