Look Up

I find it always rains on the days you wish to see the sun blind you
But a simple soft kiss from the damp bits of oxygen can have it's perks
It can cause you dance through the streets and ignore the look of fear from the strangers that surround you
I believe in fun first and "normal" second
For love should make you want to twirl on lampposts at 5am
Before you put on your button up shirt and head off to work
The smile will replace the look of misery a 9 to 5 can create
Please oh please lend me some gloves
My hands are cold
From embracing the window's pain
Shoes will break and pants will tear
But I will never forget how comfortable it made me
To wear that sweater you lend me on that night when you said
"I heard it will rain, you will freeze in that skin you wear
Let me remove a piece of my own to keep you safe"
And I just laughed and said
"You know how to please a man".
