Shark

I am a shark
Biting heads and sinking ships
Licking blood and breaking bodies
You know why your girlfriend didn't come home last night?
She was getting her heart ripped out by me.

Crooked Teeth

Hey crooked teeth
Do you think
That we ever could have
Grown tomatoes
In your sore spine of an apartment
That is
Bent over,
and
Polite about the pain?
We could have sipped on hot soup
And laughed by the heater
Blankets can't kill the cold,
But they can at least break its toes.
Maybe if I refused to drive you to
The job that made your blood boil and bubble
We could have curled up by our faux fireplace
And I would've sold another lie
And you would've bought another lie
And we could lie together
By the tomato pots.

Well Adjusted

I broke my eyes in my sleep
Will the world be kind today, now that I can't see through it?

Fur For Armor

Would you pet a beast
Even if it might bite you?
Just don't stare into it's eyes
It's too revealing.

Peach

I am art,
And he is not.
I am a peach,
And he is not.
I may have a pit for a heart
But it is buried deep under layers of sweet, subtle delight.

I Beat the Machine

I had a question for you
How do you sleep at night?
You may change your looks but deep down you're still the same
Trade art for fashion, reality for fiction
Maybe this was all bigger than you and me
Maybe it'll outlive us both
Goodbye lady anchor
Your baby doll lips can shudder all they'd like
I ran once, I can run again
Jump ship and get busy
I can stumble fast away from your whistling of a funeral march
Wash my mouth of of a bitter past
And wave goodbye to wasted time.

Banana

Little Banana
Nude in the ocean
Golden flowers in your hair
You won't find love in the water
The only thing you'll catch
Is a cold.

Good Morning Glastonbury Snowfall

She says "Slow down, let's talk about this." I think there's nothing to say. We're going in circles, and I swear I've seen that same street sign six times already. "You must be cold", I tell her. You should put on your sweater. You wanted to drive, but I didn't want to hear the wrong songs. And I know that this is the goodbye that happened too late. I'll try to try to speed it up. "It's too bad" she cries, but I haven't the time. I'm moving on after you move on, that's a deal. And I know I hugged you longer than friends do. I'll try to try to cut down in the future.
